This 2 hectare vineyard is situated on the southern slopes of Várhegy in the vicinity of Bodrogkisfalud. The soil is extremely varied and complex. The most important soil type is rhyolite tuff detritus. Surface soil is very thin, typically 0.3-0.4 m but at some spots it’s completely missing. This soil is poor in mould but rich in minerals. Vineyard exposition is south, southeast. The replanting of the partially abandoned lots was completed in 1999. Average altitude is 250m. Crop load management is done in several steps. At pruning we leave 8 buds on each vine. Shoot thinning is done in May and bunch thinning in August – this is when the number of bunches per vine is finalized. At most 8 bunches are left on a vine amounting to a 50 % thinning in some cases. It is not unusual to have bunches that are oversized and need to be halved. Varieties: Furmint 38%, Hárslevelű (Linden Leaf) 23 % , Kövérszőlő 28 %, Sárga muskotály (Yellow Muscat) 11 %
